Accurate 3D mapping for large or inaccessible areas with Aerial Drone Surveys.

ReOC Licenced – ARN:1161499
We work with Engineers and Planners to provide accurate 3D mapping data so they can design and approve projects fast.
Surveying expansive or difficult to access land using traditional surveying methods can be time-intensive, dangerous and expensive. Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) allow us to make detailed, accurate measurements of large areas quickly, safely and efficiently.

How we can help with Aerial Drone Surveying…

Aerial LiDAR

Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) uses pulsed lasers to detect surfaces, producing a ‘point cloud’ from which we create a 3D model. LiDAR is particularly useful in areas covered with vegetation, as the laser penetrates gaps in trees and grass cover. Examples of LiDAR applications include:

  • Large area topographic surveys
  • Utility and overhead powerlines modelling/inspection
  • Stockpile volumetric calculations
  • 3D digital elevation and terrain models
  • 3D building and asset modifications

Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry involves taking lots of photographs of an area and combining them into a 3D model. The 3D model is flattened to produce extremely accurate orthophotos of an area, showing every detail in its correct place.  Examples of applications include:

  • Orthophotography
  • Photo and video inspections of property and utility assets
  • Project progress monitoring
  • 3D digital elevation and terrain models
  • 3D building and asset modelling
